This week I followed five brands on twitter. These brands consisted of LG, Samsung, Netflix, Marvel, and Google. I tweeted two tweets at them each in an attempt to get them one of the brands to respond to me and acknowledge my existance. The only brand that I was successful with was LG. The tweet that they replied to was about how I want to upgrade my phone frmo their old version to their new version because of the battery life update. The tweet they did not respond to was a fun fact about their brand name. The tweets I send to the other four brands consisted of talking about when and how I use their products. FOr example, I tweeted about how I use the samsung pen stylus for math homework, how I use google's search for studying math, how I use netflix to bond with my roommate, and how I use my tablet for laptop functions. I also talked about with marvel how I was excited for one of their new movies to come out. My second marvel tweet was praising them on how well they remediate their comics into movies (trying to tie it back to class). Finally, I tweeted about how I watch netflix instead oof doing homework, and how life without google would be much harder. From my experience, I have concluded that the best way to get a brand to instantly notice you is to make them think you want to buy something from them. I noticed also from other classmates and their interactions that another good way to get a brand to talk to you is by asking questions about their products (which still feels like you are trying to make them think you want to buy their products). Negative or positive comments don't really get you anywhere.
