I found a short narrative genre called The Yellow Wallpaper. It was a short story about a woman who has been taken to a summer house with John, her husband and doctor, and his sister, Jennie who acts of the caretaker and nurse of the house. The narrator, the woman, suffers from perpartum-depression and feels like her husband downplays the disorder when he restricts her from doing activities such as writing or physical activity. She becomes obessed with the wallpaper in her bedroom, paying more and more attention to a sub-pattern on the wallpaper that resembles more and more a woman who is appears to be trapped behind the fore-pattern, a cage. By the end of the story, she is hopelessly insane after ripping all of the wallpaper off in a chaotic mess, completely convinced that there were hundreds of escaped women creeping around the house, and that she herself had escaped from the wallpaper. It ends with her husband walking in on her breakdown and fainting so that she has to creep over his unconscious body whenever she leaves or exits the room.

The purpose of this story is to explore the nature of depression and insanity in an antertaining and engaging way. The audience is anyone who enjoys these types of stories. The main rhetorical appeal is ethos because the reader constantly questions the narrator's credibility. However, there is also a little bit of pathos, where the reader feels sympathy for the narrator and her problems.

The story could be remediated into an episodic podcast because the story itself is written in the form of a diary. There are breaks that go from days to weeks in between each entry of the story. Each entry also carries enough information to be turned into a short episode of a podcast.
